Moments In Time

Along with the four seasons,
Many years have passed, unnoticed.
Wonderful moments in Nature
Has been wasted without a glimpse
To the human eyes!

I feel terrible when I think of the time misused
Busy with the mundane things in life
So materialistic am I, hence,
Tend to forget or even experience
The Grandeur of Nature!

Oh how can I compensate
The loss of time and be prepared
To enjoy Nature in spite of my monotonous routine
Still the time lost is lost forever
The beauty that is missed, is missed forever!

I wish I had a magic wand in my hand
Right now at this very moment
To wave and win back the lost time
And live in Nature
To enjoy the inexpressible joy!

Clad in Brown

Here comes the marching band
Clad in Brown
Marching to the tune of the Wind
One behind the other beautifully lined
Crossing the street
Parading in the intersections
Staging in the center
Dancing to the music
Circling and waltzing
Twisting and turning
Zigzagging and Rustling
Always at this time of the year!

Weather

Whether the weather will wither me
I don't know
Or whether I'll withstand the weather
I don't know
Someone should win the battle you see
Well both are equal and it's a draw
For the weather passes by quietly
And I grow old a bit with and without strength
Losing physically and mastering mentally by enduring its severity!

Ultimate Is Love

Love is universal
Love is impartial
Love is all embracing
Love sees beauty in everything!

There is no barrier for love
Unity and strength is love
Unique features and qualities of the individual is highlighted by love!

Beauty is love
Innocence is love

Equality is love
Respect is love

Listening is love
Understanding is love

Harmony is love
Bliss is love!

Shopping a therapy of sorts!

Many a time we see new items in the stores, on TV and at a friend's place, we would love to shop. Buying new things makes us happy. We shop for many reasons first and foremost for ourselves and secondly to gift others. Variety is the spice of life. So there are tons and tons of things to shop, from mundane things to most unique ones. But the happiness we get out of shopping, is a therapy to our mind which makes us lighthearted and bouncy.
Window shopping has become very common these days. Some people love to window shop, they love to spend their time in venturing into new stores and novel items. There are mainly two reasons to window shop, one is its a nice pass time or a hobby. Secondly people who are unable to afford it just enjoy by looking at it or plan to save and buy later. Though it is a different kind of shopping still it makes them happy and encourages them to earn or save money to buy them, so that's a therapy too!
Shopping is a therapy to some and an addiction to others. Some people can go bankrupt too if they don't have a control over their wants and expense. But like two sides of a coin, everything in life has a negative and positive side. In this case they might need some therapy to get out of their extravagant shopping habit. But not everyone gets caught into this web, only a few who can't draw a line between spending and over spending.
People who can afford and who are rich and who have good taste for novelties, artistic and exotic items have lots of fun shopping and also enjoy sharing and giving others. Which is a wonderful habit and expresses their generosity. As well as these positive qualities in them are satisfied by shopping which acts as therapy agent in their life. For, they are fond of expressing their love for humanity by giving others. Thus shopping is a therapy of sorts!!!

Listening is Love

Listen to your mom
Listen to your dad
Listen to your child
Listen to your husband
Listen to your wife
Listen to your friend
Listen to all good things in life

Listen Listen and Listen

Winter Mornings

I love to steal those few moments of love
Truly precious moments of love
When my son comes running to sleep
For five minutes with me
Before getting ready to school
To snuggle and cuddle him
Is so soothing and comforting to me
That I love to hang on to the bundle of joy
Neither he nor I wish to go to school
In the morning of a winter day!

Death-The mentor

Well, after my grandma died
And after reading Emily Dickinson's poems about death in college
As well as, experiencing too many dear hearts depart
My perception of death changed drastically.

Death is a great teacher
For it has taught me the truth
Living is part of dying and dying is part of living
Detachment should be deeper than attachment
Life on earth is like a trip to the Moon
While you are there, learn and experience all you can
To become one with Nature!

So nothing to worry about
For we are here on our soul's journey
Simply enjoy the time together
And shed the relationship forever
Hence be prepared and conquer the fear of death
For death is nothing but the movement
From one stage to another!

Death is our friend, philosopher and guide
For it helps us to complete our soul's journey!

Amazing Creation

I wonder and hence ponder
Thinking about the children with autism!

Happy to see God's complete creation with some
And sorry to see like a missing puzzle piece in others.
It's amazing in its unique way
Of how people who miss something
Are blessed with such special skills,
Which helps them accomplish
And makes the world wonder!

A slight variation in a straight line does not make it a straight line
Hence one can see from the little variations in the nerve structures
Of how it affects them
This is a challenge to the curious mind to solve and do the needful!

Interesting though unfortunate
I begin to wonder why did God create them minus something
When I see the kids with autism
My heart melts down!

Blessed in their own way
They are so cute, beautiful, handsome
And talented in many fields unknown to us
O God help us to discover and serve them better!

Life is like that...!

God has created lots and lots of flowers
Some are used for worshiping Him
Some others to be given as gifts of love,
For a marriage, birthday, anniversary,
Or for the Birth of the new born
And many in decorating indoors
Last but not the least are used to convey
Our final goodbye to a near and dear one!

We are born to serve differently like the flowers
And placed in different positions like the flowers
And that is our destiny.
Everyone is God's children
But still I don't know why some are so blessed
And while others aren't blessed enough!

No complaints from the flowers
And they beautify the surroundings
While we complain but have to learn looking at them
To just live like them
For Life is like that...!

Life and loneliness

You are born alone
You have to learn to live alone
For company is really not company!!!

The act of listening is love
But when no one listens to you
There is nothing in life!!!

Loneliness is less to worry
And makes you more efficient
Loneliness is a blessing in disguise
For no formalities, no false friends,
Hence no fears and tears
So mind your business
And make the best use of time
While you are alone and unknown!

Life is...!

Life is funny
When it is sunny
Life is dull
When it is cloudy
Life is jumpy
When it is Spring
Life is colorful
When it is Fall
Life is peaceful
When it snows!!!

A Song for You

My dream come true
You are...
My dream come true
I don't know why, I love you
But you are
My dream come true
You are an angel to say
I think of you each and every day!

Though you are miles away
I don't miss you any more
For you reside in my heart
And hence we never part
My dream come true
You are...
My dream come true!

Every second of the day
I think of you,
And dream of you
I feel happy and cheerful
My dream come true
You are...
My dream come true!

Agony

                    I

Unable to express the loss of a dear one
Be it a wife or mother
Husband or Father
Sister or brother
Son or daughter!

                II

Sorrow - for life, commences
When a person is unable to express
One's feelings freely to some one.
Pain, fear and guilt - dominates
Turning the person to dust!

                  III

One can feel the agony
When left alone without a heart to hear
While weeping badly
With a choking throat of dryness
Not a soul to share the pangs of emotion
Repenting the birth of self
And longing to die forever and never be born!

                         IV

Many a time such situations arise
Many a time one has to experience
And realize that nobody loses
But the sufferer gains
When the special day dawns!

Apple Slice

You look so nice
My apple slice
Love is a spice
And cool as ice!

Butterfly

I flutter, flutter, flutter by
Like the little Butterfly!

Flower to flower it flutter's by
For a sip of honey
House to house I run around
To enjoy the company!

Sweet like the nectar
Is friendship to me
For I am the sole benefactor
Like the butterfly, you see!

The belly full butterfly
Relaxes on a certain flower
For the flavor is its favorite.
I enjoy being with my friends
To me they are sacred!

Exchange of the pollen grains
Bring in bountiful fruits,
Sharing and caring nature in me
Stirs the poetic juice!

Divine Love II

A love so pure
So true
Beyond expression
Fresh as the fallen snow
Beautiful as the blossomed flower!!!

Sreelatha Shankar

Early Morning Hassle

O God, i detest this so called civilized living
Hurrying from the house
Rushing on the roads
Working endlessly
Being strict
enforcing and re-enforcing
certain principles and discipline
What are we to achieve
And why after all....?
Neither wealth nor education
Is needed for being a Human being!
We should lead only a simple,
truthful, all embracing life!
Just like the first man and woman on earth
No hoarding wealth or acquiring property!
Live a life of a happy go lucky !

Friends and Foes

This world is full of people. But not all are your friends. People form their own circles! According to their tastes, castes, likes, dislikes, and their choices in life. People talk about matching wavelength, and this is what they mean i guess, belonging with similar interests or as the proverb goes “Birds with the same feather flock together”. Like the different types of birds, there are different types of people, and only people who are like minded get along with each other or sometimes pretend to do so too!

But what about some people who do not restrict themselves to these kinds of notions. They are people who treat everybody equal! These people truly face a lot of rough situations in a cool and calm way but there is a saturation point in their life too! Name and fame are not important to them! Quality is what that matters to them than any other thing! Of course these special people have feelings and emotions like every other person. But unfortunately the society takes them for granted and never respects them or even credits them for what they are...! Instead, exploits them and hurts them as much as possible. Which is really a shame to the human world!

All this happens because people fear that some individual's superiority, might get crushed or may not be highlighted! The character of a person is the most important thing! Everyone talks about it but most of them forget to practice due to their selfishness!

There are three types of groups of people namely, the people who boss around with some superior principles, ideas or tastes; secondly the people who worship these people and enjoy belonging to that group; thirdly the people who are just their own who really don't classify to any particular class, creed or kind! (The noble minded people!)

But when we are in a foreign land initially meeting people from the same country is considered important, later, when there is more population from the same country, people start restricting themselves and narrow down to their castes, tastes, etc., and start grouping people to the inner circle , outer circle and so on. This makes others feel like “a fish out of water”. One time friend becomes a foe here! People develop inner conflict, cold war, and then try searching for soul mates! Finally find that the people who come under the third category are true friends! But the ego in the people who were hurt by others starts to dominate thus soiling their reputation! People are not ready to change but expect others to accommodate accordingly!

A noble minded person, gives important to equality and values other people's interest and co-operates with them. They are the people who cherish the integrity of the human world ! These people are like the Sun which gives light, life and energy to everyone! But many people fail to absorb or gain the positive energy that flows around them because they shelter themselves in the shadows of some false truth which they believe to be true!

The so called noble minded people are free from age, caste, creed, kind, and false principles! They are straight forward, simple, sweet people! Simplicity, Equality, and Fraternity are the blood, life and soul of these noble minded people!

Poem for Fun

Using these words I have to write a poem!
1.ice-cream
2.cooler
3.snow
4.flower
5.pen
6.ink

I scream, you scream, all scream, for ice-cream
Mom says in the cooler
Dad says i love snow
I'll make a white flower
Where is my pen, my pen,
I ran out of ink!

Blue, black, green, red ink
All different color topping on the ice-cream
I have a special pen
It needs to be in the cooler
Except while drawing a flower
It can be in the snow!

Snow, snow, snow, let it snow
On the snow don't drop the bottle of ink
Oops, never mind,it blotted into beautiful flower
Like the blue-berry ice-cream
O now i remember 'ts in the cooler
I don't mind trading my pen!

O 'ts my lucky pen
Don't lose it in the snow
But put it in the cooler
It has a magic ink
Melts into the paper like ice-cream
Beautiful as a flower!

Like one's favorite flower
Is one's pen
Mixed tastes of ice-cream
Mixed moods in the snow
Ice cubes in the tray freeze the ink
Power cut with the cooler!

O I am helpless with the cooler
Cheer me with the flower
O I have lost the pen
Go get it from the snow
I dropped my ice-cream

Cooler is back with the power, fetch my pen
Flower beds on the snow
Ink colors on the ice-cream!

Parents and Children

Well a wonderful topic to be discussed! When we are children we want to grow fast and become parents. For we think its cool to be a parent, since the parent has everything under his or her control. And hence miss some precious moments of our childhood or forget sometimes even to enjoy childhood! But fortunately or unfortunately when we become parents we realize being a parent is not a piece of cake. For every single thing we have to struggle, from changing the child's diaper, giving bath and making the child eat. Especially, when the child is not even a month old and in spite of our blues we have to struggle for all these regular chores. It makes us feel so bad, when we cant accomplish these normal things in life. Of course we enjoy the relationship with our children. So, what we learn from this is, take one thing at a time. Relax and enjoy what you are and who you are...!

Parents have lots of responsibilities in taking care of the family, precisely providing food, clothing and shelter, the basic needs. We don't stop right there but strive in life to achieve a luxurious life. And we need to save like the ants and squirrels do for the winter. It's a whole lot of work, not so easy. Mostly men take care of the monetary part and the women in raising the children. I am always puzzled at this statement when the kids do a great job the credit mostly goes to the dad while the moms struggle all day to help them reach the goal. Whereas anything bad is blamed on the mom, “well you didn't raise the kid to the expected level”- this indeed is ridiculous. As parents we need to share the family responsibilities and switch places at times to experience many things. It is difficult to raise a child ?! It is not an easy task. Needs lots of sacrifice, effort, time, and money.

Children are full of energy we need to channelize their vitality. Well what to do if they refuse to do according to our advice? Just wait patiently, until they are ready to agree and do things, thats one way , and the other is making them do what we think is right for them. They are children they cant decide, so we have to decide for them. Its so difficult for the parents to make right choices. Some parents have their dilemmas, not only that when the children don't co-operate it is very, very hard. And this creates hell of problems between the parents. But what i worry about the most is the peers, both of children and parents.
In this fast moving world the children need to catch up with lots of things their peers do. Its putting more pressure on them. Some times its difficult to trace the true talent of the child so as to cherish it. Some parents are lucky and are blessed with kids who are interested in any and all kinds of activities, who are willing to try many things, who are very enthusiastic and curious. And there are kids who are not interested in anything at all. In this case the parent is to be pitied and sympathized but are only criticized, and are helpless. What a mental agony this parent has to face! Only parents with similar problems can comprehend well. Most often we think everybody under the blue sky is our friend. Its not true! A friend in need is a friend indeed! Knowingly and unknowingly we discover real friends to whom we don't talk everyday or see everyday. But they care about our family and exchange valuable information about children's issues and parenting problems! What an excellent surprise in a world of disappointment. May God bless these people who truly care abundantly!

Children are our teachers too! They teach us various things, they test our patience and abilities. They manipulate us well than we do! Children are so adorable. Very affectionate, and unexpectedly truly caring. They cheer you up at times of distress. They are indeed very concerned. They are a lot more fun to be with and grow old. From the time of their birth to until what they are now. Millions and millions of memories to be replayed in our minds and hearts. Though we have videos, cameras, all high tech things to capture precious moments. We still lose to capture many as snap shots but our mind and heart has it all. It is always good to maintain a journal about these interesting things that we notice in our day to day lives. So we can enjoy reading them while we have free time or energize ourselves at times of pain. Children are challenging! It all depends on how we take it! Its a struggle, and a battle to a tired mind and physique! Its an interesting competition to the healthy couple.

Like the two sides of coin, life is also full of opposites, we would not know the value of good if bad did not exist, so is with happiness and sorrow, success and failure, etc,. Thats why we have all these challenges, to make life interesting. We should try to learn and comprehend things in a positive way or be optimistic. From all the criticism we hear or get we need to focus on the negative aspects to change it to positive results. Our clear mind and our trial and error method should pave a way for our success.

Simple Pleasures

Simple pleasures
Are true treasures
To cherish and nourish
One's heart and soul
With happiness and harmony!

To a child
A simple pebble is precious as gold
But the old and elderly
Have their own to hold
Some choose money
while others choose love
but quite a few choose Nature all above!

Points to Ponder

Be good, do good, and surprisingly you will be rewarded with good things.

Listen to your inner self it is always right in telling you something. It hints and cautions you, good or bad, conveys a message to you.

Don't take anything for granted, it has much more than you think.

Be happy and bring happiness to everyone in and away from you.

Words of kindness and friendliness leads to progress.

A person is blessed with great potentialities only when she or he is worthy of it.

A mantra gains power by chanting it devotedly, knowledgeably and repeatedly. Hence, any word does become powerful. So be careful and always utter good or positive things.

Maximum utility is the best to utilize anything and everything. (Especially good chances and opportunities for students.)

Learn to live not to exist, but make life interesting and worth living.

Be always positive and ambitious for it helps you to achieve something if not your goal.

Sreelatha Shankar

Thoughts...!

Silence is your companion
Solitude is Paradise!

Nothingness is everything
Empty is full!

Neither to do
Nor to experience in this world
I stand transformed!

Your Love

Smitten by your love
Drunken with joy
Brimming in ecstasy
Blossoms Bliss!

Not Knowing Why...?

I cry, I weep, I sob
Not knowing why?
Blaming God for my suffering
Then dawned realization
Flooding me with wisdom
Followed with happiness and peace
Transcending me to the World of Bliss!

Mother Nature

Cradled in the lap of Nature
Taught to love and nurture
Universal love.

Drifted away to Her dismay
I walk, run and blindly fall
For I'm lost in social prejudice.

Fortunately realize the truth
Just to be myself
To live in the world of love.

The joy and freedom
Knew no bounds
Happy to be reborn in the lap of Mother Nature!

Deeply drenched in joy
My heart sees it's beauty

Deeply drenched in joy
My heart sees it's beauty
In the cool waters of the ocean

Deeply drenched in joy
My heart sees its beauty
In the sparkling sunshine on the river

Blogging is therapeutic!

Writing is a healthy hobby as well as a wonderful skill! It helps us to share our thoughts, ideas and views about different things. Magazines were popular in those days. When we were young we used to write letters to our relatives and friends. And by sharing some incidents it helped us to learn, heal, and comfort. Some people have the habit of writing a journal or diary. No matter how interesting or eventful their day was, it was their every day ritual to write down the events of the day. Hence writing was therapeutic!!!

Now we write blogs. People maintain individual websites and add articles on a regular basis or a group of people either discuss or write on a particular subject. Blogging is very useful because we get a lot of information on a certain topic from browsing in the internet. Useful advice regarding particular disease or alternate health remedies are given. Lots of tips, references are given. Wide range of articles from politics to religion, business to education, fables and fantasies are discussed for the knowledge and fun of it. Most of all it's easily accessible by everyone around the world.

Blogging is therapeutic! Because we are able to communicate with people who share similar problems or similar subject matter. Be it yoga, health, children, family, literature, dance, music, etc. And we get to know the sites where we can proceed further to nurture and express our skills and talents. It is very informative and helps us with our doubts regarding any subject. Blogging involves both writing and sharing! And sharing is comforting, especially when it deals with some sorrowful incidents. It contributes a lot to either our physical or mental well being so blogging is therapeutic!

Friendships - Do we have time for them today?

Life is an ocean and we sail in it comfortably with friendship! Friendship is something that is inevitable in our life! However the world may change, friendship will exist. Hence, friends are there for each other at all times.

Friendship is a fine and interesting chapter in everyone's life. As per their age group, even in this modern era, children and adults find time for friendship and spend time together. Our busy lives are consumed by the different activities that our spouses and children participate. Still we look forward to meet our friends to have some fun, share our thoughts and ideas with them.

The only difference is in those days, children played outside with their friends and spent time well in person. And the adults met occasionally. Nowadays, though they are not able to spend so much time in person, they have the advantage of using technology. This generation is more tech savvy that they interact through emails, internet chat, telephones and text messaging to keep in touch. Since the physical presence is also essential, friends take time to meet and go out to movies, beach, sight-seeing, lunch or parties.

Older generation remembers many interesting incidents! But not everyone is able to recollect all the fun. As time goes by, they are so involved in their lives that they forget the nice moments. Whereas today we have camcorders and cell phones to capture those moments and keep them forever as a memento. Whenever we think about our friends, we play the DVDs and recollect the precious moments.

We always find time for friends. When a person is down with a dreaded disease like cancer, his friends rally to his side. They offer support and encouragement by writing or talking to him. They pray for him, raise money for the medical expenses and conduct drives to raise money or to find a organ or marrow donor. We see friends really devoting their time, energy and money to help save their friend's life! Some people travel from distant places to visit and serve them too! Friends from different parts of the world unite to help out their friend. So, its not only we take time to have fun but also to help.

To highlight the value of friendship, here is another example. A couple's only son was in the army for five years. Not only his parents, but many other families who knew him, prayed everyday for his safe return. And by God's grace, he returned home safely.

More than ever, we definitely need and have time for friends now.

Work/Life Balance - Are women born jugglers?

Wow, a wonderful topic to discuss!

We have heard many times people saying : He is born to be a doctor or born to be a teacher! It refers to their in born skills, meaning, apart from being trained as a doctor or teacher, they are very capable by nature in their respective profession. Whereas when we ponder about our topic it is something we need to acquire, strive for balancing our Life with Work efficiently!

There are two important things that help a woman to be well balanced in both Life and Work, namely, the physical and psychological strengths. Nurturing the child from her childhood days with nutritious and healthy food, good values, skills and knowledge, helps her to become strong in both the aspects. And also introducing several activities to the child while growing up and providing the right environment to practice what she has learn't shapes her into an efficient individual who would succeeds both in Life and Work. As we know Practice makes people Perfect!

Thus the child grows into a healthy, strong and complete woman fit for present life challenges. And she is able to perform well in all her different roles as a daughter, wife, daughter-in-law, mother, tutor, driver, friend, co-worker, cook, planner and organizer apart from the position she holds at her work place.

Hence those who are blessed with enough nourishment in both physical and mental/vital aspect are successful! And the others who miss either one of these have to struggle a lot to meet their needs and goals.

Only opportunities, preparations and practice makes anybody an expert juggler! Secondly, not everyone can do it! As some people are physically and mentally (vitally) strong and some others are either physically or mentally strong, so depending on the individual's strength, the ratio of their balance falls in place and hence they are either good jugglers, moderate jugglers, or not.

An added advantage is the growth of fast food, good restaurant and cafeterias in the office campuses which helps them to manage and handle well with their house chores and family matters especially in needful and dire situations. It saves time and helps them to accomplish more in a day.

In my opinion, nobody is born as a good juggler, but they can become one.

Depression

When I see these wonderful TV ads or read in the magazines about the depression medication, I feel ah well how nice and easy it would be if a single pill could take care of all our worries, sorrow, and anxiety. Whoever has written the script or marvelous wordings for the ads greatly lure the depressed people. Well the medicines does not really cure but leads us to other side effects too. But unfortunately, the cold truth is NO MEDICINE CAN CURE DEPRESSION. Medicines can only calm you down and help you to rest, relax and sleep! It is only a temporary relief like a pain killer medication. Well you are the only person who can cure depression. Yes you can do it!!!

Everyone has their rough time in life. We are all born to learn something and the rough time in our life helps us to discover the follies, weaknesses, and mistakes in us and to correct them. It all depends on how efficiently and smoothly we can handle them, instead of being very upset and feeling very sad, hopeless, helpless, and being a loser. No, we are not a loser in anyway. What is going on in our life revolves around our past, present and future, and that's why we are experiencing the present condition.

Lots of things affect us unknowingly. All the situations, circumstances and experiences account to our character and nature which forms to be the basic qualities in us. So we should not blame ourself for what we are going through, because there are various factors involved. We should not judge ourselves as others do but reason out and find the answers for the questions : Why, what, when, where and how!!! That shows the maturity in us rather than being like a child who cribs, cries, or whines for the things it wants and it didn't get.

So, we need to stop for awhile calm ourselves down, and start thinking. What is the reason for becoming very unhappy? What is that, that is bothering me? Am I right or wrong in doing this? How can I solve my problems. Most of all how can I be happy and lead a healthy life? Here is the most important solution. MEDITATION!!!

Meditation, is a very essential factor in keeping our life happy. We should take time to meditate for at least ten minutes everyday. Well one can start with even few seconds or one minute of sincere quietness of mind. One can acquire the quietness, by initially letting the thoughts flow and empty itself out of our head without we pondering further on it. The more frequent we practice the more faster we can master the technique and can dive deep into the realms of meditation and find the truth. Hence, when we are undergoing depression or any other problem, we need a very quiet place, devoid of all distractions and disturbances, to think and analyze about ourselves and our problems and things that cause this hopelessness. And meditation is the most efficient method to find out the causes for depression or any such problems and will also show us some solutions.

Secondly, time to time evaluating our self helps us to progress in life. This helps us to stay away from depression. Every simple, single step we take really leads us a long way to success. We should believe in ourselves, we should highlight the good qualities in us and jot down the bad ones that need to be eliminated. We should accept our mistakes. By eliminating the bad qualities we help us to cleanse our mind and open our self to something new.

While we talk about evaluating, comparison comes to our mind, generally people say "don't compare yourself to others, everybody is different ". Well that is right but we need to view at it in a different angle for eg. The doctor compares the growth of the baby to a growth chart, to measure the growth of the baby. Every baby is different then why does the doctor do this, since there are some general norms. According to me we should compare. It is good to compare ourselves because we come to know how blessed we are than the others who are in some way less fortunate than us,(for eg. regarding health, wealth, status, character or profession etc.,) as well as how much effort we need to put to come up in life like some other people who really thrive so well in life.

We also need a very good, reliable, friend in whom we can trust and count upon some advise, support and encouragement which can help us in solving our problems.

We should also write down our goals in life. We should dream about them, we should work hard to achieve our goals and not worry about the results. Unexpectedly everything will fall in place, and make us happy. And we will be able to achieve something like others. As we know failure is a stepping stone for success. Depression can make us accomplish too!

Porridge

Just started preparing the nutritious multi-grain porridge
And my childhood thoughts flashed in my mind
My face bloomed with a smile.
Thinking of the good old childhood days spent in my Grandma's house!

The next door neighbors in my grandma's village
Always used to prepare this great porridge
Honoring the Goddess of Strength
Asking her blessings for good health during the hot summer days!

Staying healthy devoid of disease,
Especially the chicken pox and its cousins
After the long rituals,
Hundreds of people line-up ,
With all shapes and sizes of vessels
To get this blessed porridge
At the temple premises!

Oh how i used to love this great nutritious meal
Clubbed together with the mango pickles
And Crunchy crispy pink onions.
Wow this meal to our body and soul is beyond description
Nothing can beat it, even the Royal dinner!

Well gone are those beautiful days,
I wonder whether there will come a day
For my children to experience, what I experienced!

Raindrops

Once upon a cloudy day i was born
Landed on a lovely leaf at that morn
Later when the sun shone brightly
Its beautiful rays beautified me
With the colorful rainbow hues
I smiled and twinkled with joy

At that glorious moment
In life came a thirsty little butterfly
It sipped me a little, chipping off
The yellowish hue thinking it was nectar
Then fluttered away to a nearby flower

Phew! i was safe and sound
With a pretty good hold
On this slender tender green leaf
Decorating this blade of grass
Like the precious diamond ring
On a woman's finger,
Twinkling and sparkling all the time.

Well the sun was burning up the gas
And drying the moisture around
I didn't want to be wasteful
Watching my friends dry
But decided to slip by
The parched soil

Well here i got absorbed by a little apple seed
Which was longing for some water to bring it to life
And i was transformed into some sort of energy
To make it grow into a little apple sapling!
And so my life never ends
Because its recycled through
This little apple sapling
And i get out of there into the air
To be robed as clouds
And back to the earth
As a crystal clear raindrop again!

Intruder

I went to my garden to take some pictures
Beautiful snaps of the gorgeous flowers
My Favorite roses and gerbera daisies
It was then I discovered
That my beautiful lotus -colored rose had vanished.
O my heart wept silently
Was angry with whoever stole it
Be it a human or an animal.
My little boy said maybe
A teenager stole it to give it to his girl friend.
My older son said maybe
A teenager took it to just squish it.
And well the next day to my surprise
I see my peace colored gerbera daisy
Snapped from its plant and was lying on the ground
I was glad to see the flower in its full form
So i picked it up to put it in a vase to admire it
Was a little happy to at least see this flower
My happiness didn't last long
The third day i was alarmed to see
The tender shoots of the rose plant were all eaten
And my dark maroon colored dense petaled rose
Was eaten as well by some mysterious creature
Oh no, I toiled so hard to have a beautiful garden
Is this what i get in return for my efforts
Mother Nature please help me.
Since i was bad to the squirrels,
Who hoarded the birdseeds
You can't punish me like this
Maybe the deer, or the rabbits, or the moles
Are eating everything.
I sleep late at night to see if i can find the intruder
And wake up early to catch the intruder
Disappointed but got it confirmed
By the poop, it was a deer's poop,
Then it was the rabbit and then the moles
I hope next spring I'll get to see
At least some of my floral garden back in blossom!
